Farmers’ associations from cities and towns of Negros Occidental received rice threshers, worth P2.3 million, from the provincial government during the ceremonial turnover at the Negros First Organic Technology Center (NFOTeC) in Brgy. Tabunan, Bago City Nov. 27.
The activity was led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and OIC provincial agriculturist, Dr. Dina Genzola.
The recipients include members and officers of the Tuy-anan Farmers Association from Brgy. Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Camao Farmers SWISA of Brgy. Marcelo, Calatrava, Sta. Rosa Small Farmers Association of Brgy. Sta. Rosa in Murcia, Binintigan Farmers and Rural Farm Workers Association of Brgy. XI in Victorias City;

The Gloria Ilimnan ARB Farmers Association, also of Brgy. Sta. Rosa in Murcia; Pandanon Silos Farmers Association, Brgy. Pandanon Silos, Murcia; Sandungao SWISA, Brgy. Bacong, Bago City; Siga-siga Agrarian Reform Farmers Association, Brgy. Sag-ang, La Castellana; Had. Jardiolin ARB, Brgy. Mgallon Cadre, Moises Padilla; Brgy. Culipapa Cemeco SWISA, Brgy. Sangke, Hinoba-an; Tabsi SWISA, Brgy. Payawan, Candoni; Dangula Culipapa Farmers Beneficiaries of SWISA, Brgy. Culipapa, Hinoba-an; and the Federation of Irrigators Association – Central Negros.
To ensure the proper use and upkeep of the machinery, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist conducted an orientation session on the operation, maintenance, and rules for the rice threshers, the Capitol said.
These custom-built rice threshers are designed for enhanced efficiency, offering significantly higher capacity compared to manual threshers.
They are also expected to minimize post-harvest losses and improve productivity, providing valuable support to the farming communities of Negros Occidental. ||
