Negros-based Army units honored

The Philippine Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade (IB) and its line units, including the 62nd, 79th and 94th Infantry Battalions, were among those honored and recognized by the 3rd Infantry Division (ID) for their exceptional performance and dedication in serving Negros Island.

The awards were given during the 50th founding anniversary of the 3ID at Camp General Macario Peralta Jr. in Jamindan, Capiz on May 23.

Maj. Mervin Rosal, civil-military operations officer of 303IB, said the four Negros- based units stood out as an exemplary force within the 3ID area of operations.

Awards were given to   three Army officers, three enlisted personnel, three CAFGU active auxiliaries and two civilians.

The 303IB itself received five Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) streamer awards, including four major engagement streamers and a Bayanihan streamer, in recognition of its  exceptional efforts in community development, peacekeeping operations, and disaster response.

An enlisted personnel of the 94IB also received a Silver Cross Medal.

Brig. Gen. Orlando Edralin, 303IB commander, said these awards and recognitions serve as proof to the commitment and positive impact of the Army units in Negros within the communities.

“They continue to inspire as they carry out their important work, setting an example of dedication for all men and women in uniform,” he added. | GB
