Governor Roel Degamo has issued an executive order lifting the S-PaSS, or the Safe, Swift and Smart Passage travel management app as one of the requirements for entry into Negros Oriental.

During a meeting with members of the Negros Oriental Inter-Agency Task Force Oct. 20, Degamo said several concerns were raised with regard to the implementation of the S-PaSS, that he said has become a hindrance due to the absence of round-the-clock management of S-PaSS counters, resulting in large number of travelers stranded in various entry points.

In lifting the S-PaSS requirement, Degamo, however, clarified that all other provisions of the previous EOs, which are not in any way affected by this amendment shall remain to be in effect.

A negative RT-PCR result valid for 72 hours is being required for unvaccinated travelers, and negative antigen result valid for 48 hours for vaccinated travelers, the provincial government of Negros Oriental said.

The lifting of the S-PaSS requirement took effect Oct. 23. – GB
