NegOr CSOs pledge P2-M for 4Ps households: DSWD

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 7, through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), held its annual civil society organizations (CSOs) consultation dialogue for the province of Negros Oriental recently.

The dialogue aimed to strengthen convergence among CSOs in the province, through a commitment to the Convergence Plan. Key results include initial support for 2,436 4Ps households in 2025 and for 770 4Ps households in 2026, with total committed amount at P2,142,000.

The participating CSOs pledged to provide various services, including livelihood programs, skills training, scholarship, social advocacies, values formation, and spiritual enhancement, the DSWD7 said in a press release.

The CSOs that signed their commitment include the Little Children of the Philippines Inc., Dumaguete Kalauman Center for Development Inc., Silliman University Foundation, Bona Ruth (Avon Commercial) Inc., Katilingbanong Pagtagad Alang sa Kauswagan Inc.;

BearMuch Fruit Ministries Inc., International Care Ministries Inc., and the PNP Most Moral and Spiritual Transformation.

Meanwhile, the DSWD7 distributed 831 family food packs (FFPs) to 277 partner beneficiaries, who participated in the six-day Project Lawa and Binhi Food-for-Work (FFW) implementation in Barangay Mabato, Ayungon, Negros Oriental.

During the six-day FFW implementation, partner beneficiaries in Brgy. Mabato maintained their community garden crops and ensured the cleanliness of their tilapia ponds.

LGU Ayungon, an active implementer of Project Lawa and Binhi, is one of the partner-LGUs to adopt the full implementation of the project in the coming months.

Representatives from the DSWD 7 Disaster Response Management Division, the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office, and the Municipal Agricultural Office led in the distribution. ||
