The duration of the modified general community quarantine in Negros Occidental has been extended until Feb. 28 this year.
This was stated in Executive Order No. 21-05 issued by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson dated Jan. 28, which also mentioned that Negros Occidental has 6,643 COVID-19 confirmed cases as of Jan. 26, while the entire country has 518,407 positive cases as of Jan. 27.
On the other hand, Mayor Evelio Leonardia has yet to declare the community quarantine status for Bacolod City.
Bacolod City has 5,723 confirmed cases, including 5,413 recoveries, 128 active cases, and 182 deaths as of Jan. 27.
“Because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in our country, there is still a need to place Negros Occidental under MGCQ,” Lacson said in his executive order.
Of the total cases in Negros Occidental, the Provincial Incident Management Team recorded 6,320 recoveries, with 115 active cases and 208 deaths Kabankalan City, Sipalay City, Valladolid and
San Enrique have zero active cases while Silay City has the most number of active cases with 17, followed by San Carlos City, 10; and Cadiz City, nine. – GB
