Negros Occidental remains under the Modified General Community Quarantine status.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson issued an executive order dated Oct. 30 extending the duration of the MGCQ until Nov. 30.

Bacolod City, on the other hand, remains under General Community Quarantine.

But that is subject of an appeal by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who wants the LGU’s status downgraded to MGCQ.

In Executive Order 20-47, signed Oct. 30, 2020, Lacson reported that Negros Occidental has 4,451 COVID 19 cases, adding that there is still a need to place the province under MGCQ.

The EO takes effect Nov. 1.

Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson of Himamylan City also issued an executive order requiring all market stall and transient vendors to undergo mandatory

RT-PCR testing before the resumption of business operation in the new public market.

Tongson, in an Oct. 29 order , said that 12 persons, including market personnel and their families, were tested positive for COVID 19, together with four others.

Given this scenario, the public has no assurance of their safety when they go to the new city market to buy their needs until all the vendors undergo RT-PCR testing before they resume operations.

Those who will test positive will undergo mandatory quarantine. GPB
