NegOcc on Alert Level 4 for COVID

The Department of Health in Western Visayas has placed Negros Occidental under Alert Level 4 due to the rising COVID-19 active cases, with healthcare capacity and utilization rate classified as high risk.

Bacolod City also remains under Alert Level 4, with similar circumstances.

In a virtual presser Sept. 20, Dr. Marie Jocelyn Te, DOH-WV-CHD medical officer 4, reported that Negros Occidental logged a 72.64 percent healthcare utilization rate, while Bacolod recorded 76.92 percent.

The Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) of Bacolod City rose to 17.18 percent per 100,000 population, while Negros Occidental’s ADAR increased to 5.95 percent per 100,000 population.

The two-week growth rate of COVID cases in Negros Occidental showed an increase of 100 percent, and 80 percent in Bacolod City, DOH records showed.

The Provincial Incident Management Team logged 2,845 active cases in Negros Occidental, as of Sept. 19. — GB
