The Commission on Elections (Comelec) logged a 74.3 percent voter turnout during the synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on Oct. 30 in Negros Occidental.
This showed that 1,498,754 of the 2,014,725 total registered voters in the province cast their votes during the last elections.
Among those who voted, Comelec records showed that 798,612 are males while 772,079 are females.
More females voted at 75.03 percent compared to males which was only 73.92 percent.
For the SK elections, a total of 480,047 voted, of which 233,047 are males while 247,705 are females.
This means a voter turnout of 72.76 percent.
Of the total number of those who voted for SK, Comelec records showed that 40,501 are 15 to 17 years old and 440,104, between 18 and 30 years old.
Negros Occidental has 660,709 youth voters in 5,704 clustered precincts. | GB
