The barangay health workers and scholars from the provincial government of Negros Oriental received financial assistance during the payouts this week.
Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria and provincial health officer, Dr. Liland Estacion, led the payout distribution to barangay health workers (BHWs) from Dumaguete City, Valencia, Bacong, Sibulan, Amlan, and Dauin July 10 at the Lamberto L. Macias Sports and Cultural Complex.
By organizing this payout distribution event, the provincial government demonstrated its commitment to supporting and valuing the contributions of BHWs in Negros Oriental, the Capitol said in a press release, adding this also “serves as a testament to the importance of recognizing and compensating those who dedicate their time and efforts to improving public health outcomes at the grassroots level.”
Sagarbarria stressed the importance of honoring these frontline healthcare workers, who play a crucial role in promoting community health and wellness. “We’ve taken this action to ensure that their invaluable services are appropriately valued and acknowledged.”
The governor, meanwhile, led the distribution of grants to Negrense scholars from the three legislative districts of the province July 8, at the Negros Oriental Convention Center.
This event is a significant milestone for the student-scholars, who eagerly awaited their well-deserved grants.
Sagarbarria also highlighted opportunities in nursing and medical fields, as well as promoted the newly-opened program for agricultural studies, during the payout. ||
