Police Col. Leo Pamittan, who is about to complete his two-year tour of duty as provincial director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), is up for transfer to a higher position.

Under the stewardship of Pamittan, the NOCPPO was adjudged as best provincial police office nationwide in 2023.

“Being awarded as the best PPO nationwide, it tells the story about how they performed. We can’t ask for more,” Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

“In fact, this will be the challenge to the next police provincial director, how to equal, or even surpass it,” he added.

Pamittan assumed the post as NOCPPO chief in January 2022.

It has not been determined yet who will succeed him.

“We will assure the new PD (provincial director) that we will continue to give the same support that we have given to the previous PDs that we had,” Lacson said.

Pamittan led the NOCPPO staff and police chiefs of 31 component cities and municipalities in paying the traditional New Year’s call to Lacson at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, which was also attended by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II. | GB
