The provincial government of Negros Occidental and 10 other local government units (LGUs) in the province are among the 493 awardees of the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) granted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The awarding rites will be held on Dec. 13 and 14.
Other recipients are the highly- urbanized city of Bacolod, component cities of Victorias, Cadiz, Escalante, Himamaylan, Sagay, San Carlos and Talisay, and the municipalities of La Castellana and Manapla.
The SGLG is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program which aims to continue to uphold its commitment to bringing about inclusive and people-oriented reforms that will enable the LGUs to foster a culture of good governance amid the challenges in the local government landscape. | GB
