Nearly 4,000 jobseekers participated in the City Government of Bacolod’s annual Valentine’s Day job fair at SM City Bacolod’s North Block.
The event brought together employers and applicants in a one-day employment matching activity organized by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
The job fair featured 75 companies offering thousands of job vacancies across various industries, including nine overseas recruitment agencies.

By the end of the day, 46 applicants were hired on the spot.
The event was part of the city’s ongoing efforts, under Mayor Greg Gasataya, to expand employment access and strengthen workforce opportunities.
“This job fair is an important opportunity for our residents to connect with meaningful employment,” PESO manager Jovelyn Canoy-Dato-on said in a press release. “The strong turnout shows how committed the city is to supporting jobseekers and helping them take steps toward stable and fulfilling careers.”
The Valentine’s Day Job Fair is held annually to support inclusive employment and strengthen local workforce readiness, helping residents find opportunities both locally and abroad.
The event was also meaningful for SM City Bacolod’s North Block, marking its first anniversary, the press release said. Known for curated dining and food stalls, the North Block is a place to enjoy more flavors and hang out in bold, maxed-out style. ||
