The prices of petroleum products will increase by more than P1 per liter a day after the Philippine Independence Day celebration.
Oil companies announced over the weekend that the price per liter of diesel will increase by P1.30 to P1.50, gasoline by P1.10 to P1.30, and kerosene by P1 to P1.35, to reflect the changes in the international market.
The exact price adjustments will be known today, June 12, with oil companies regularly implementing movements every Tuesday.
This will be the first price increase for this month, after oil companies rolled back their prices last week.
On June 6, oil companies implemented a per liter decrease of P0.30 for diesel, and P0.60 for gasoline and kerosene.
These price adjustments resulted in a year-to-date net decrease for diesel at P5.35/liter and kerosene at P7.35/liter, the Department of Energy said, adding that gasoline has a net increase of P5.50/liter since the start of this year./CGC
