Several school buildings were inaugurated in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental before Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo ends his term.
The two-storey, two-classroom school building for Junob National High School, worth P5.5 million, was blessed and inaugurated June 27.
School principal Luisto Mapue, speaking on behalf of the faculty, students, and the PTA, said the new building will help address the shortage of classrooms.

Another building is also being proposed for Junob NHS in response to the growing population of students, the city said in a press release June 29.
Assistant schools division superintendent (SDS) Juditha Mapue, representing SDS Edmark Ian Cabio, thanked Remollo and the city for the significant and consistent support to the public school sector.
Remollo, chairperson of the Local School Board, earlier said that P81.4 million has been earmarked for the construction of several school buildings, charged against the Special Education Fund.
Members of the faculty and learners of Cadawinonan Elementary School also thanked Remollo and DepEd Schools Division of Dumaguete for the turnover of the new two-storey, eight-classroom school building with improvements of the covered stage.
Remollo said the newly-inaugurated P18 million school building is one of the seven schools that are recipients of the program totaling P81.4 million, taken from the savings of the local government to address the shortage of classrooms in the public schools. ||
