More Negrense solons get committee chairmanships

More Negros Occidental solons were given committee chairmanships by House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Third District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez retained his chairmanship of the Housing and Urban Development Committee, while former House Minority leader Stephen Joseph Paduano of Abang Lingkod partylist group has been named chairperson on the Committee on Public Accounts.

Second District Rep. Alfredo Marañon III was also designated as chairperson of the Committee on Aquaculture and Fisheries Resources

Benitez thanked the House leadership for their trust and support.

Fourth District Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer, a lawyer, was earlier named chairperson of the House Committee on Justice.

Ferrer will also serve as an ex-officio member of the Judicial and Bar Council, sharing the seat with the Senate chair of the Justice Committee.

Paduano, on the other hand, said that Abang Lingkod is committed to work even harder, as he vowed the implementation of more programs and projects in the grassroots./GB
