There will be additional flights from Manila to Bacolod and Cebu to Bacolod for Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific, starting March 1, Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said Feb. 23.
Diaz said Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson approved in principle the increase in the number of flights, following talks with representatives of airline companies.
At present, flights between Manila and the Bacolod-Silay Airport are limited to two trips per airline company per day, and one flight per airline per week between Mactan-Cebu and the Bacolod-Silay Airport.
Diaz said there will be three flights per day for PAL and Cebu Pacific starting on March 1, while Air Asia wants to retain two flights per day.
There will be an extra cargo flight for Cebu Pacific to the province, he added.
Diaz also announced that Cebu Pacific will have four flights for Cebu-Bacolod-Cebu a week and three flights for PAL in the same period.
Lacson is expected to issue an executive order on this before the end of this month, he added. |GB
