Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Adrian Villaflor filed a complaint against a teacher before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on May 6 for allegedly engaging in partisan political activity, which is a violation of the Omnibus Election Code.

The respondent, whom he did not name yet, is a teacher at the Magallon Cadre Elementary School and assigned as a chairman of the Board of Election Inspectors for the May 12 national and local polls.

In his affidavit-complaint, Villaflor alleged that the respondent accompanied reelectionist Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo in her campaign trail and caucuses in the different barangays of Moises Padilla.

A challenger of Garcia-Yulo in the mayoral race, Villaflor further claimed that the respondent joined the political meetings with coordinators and family leaders of the incumbent mayor.

The complaint of Villaflor, which was submitted to the Comelec, was backed by various evidence and pictures.

Villafor, who was the runningmate of Garcia-Yulo during the 2019 and 2022 elections, also filed a similar complaint against the teacher before the Department of Education and the Civil Service Commission. | GB
