Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson signed a memorandum of agreement with Master Global Education and Livelihood Training Inc. and scholarship grantees of the NOSP Skills and Livelihood Training, at the Capitol in Bacolod City Nov. 2.
Fifty scholars, composed of out-of-school youth and former overseas Filipino workers, will avail of free training on Bread and Pastry Production NCII, and Food and Beverage Services NCII.
The vocational scholarship program is part of the rehabilitation initiative of the provincial government to lessen the impact of the pandemic, especially at the grassroots level.
It is aimed at enabling out-of-school youth and former OFWs to have access to vocational education to improve their socio-economic condition, the Capitol said in a press release, adding that the province will shoulder the total cost of the training, including the assessment fees, and board and lodging of the scholars.
The Master Global Education and Livelihood Training Inc. is a Tesda-registered training institution and accredited assessment center, and the MOA was signed by its president, Gualberto Pugoy.
The signing was facilitated by the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division, headed by Karen Dinsay. ||
