A mixed-use residential and commercial development is being eyed in Barangay Singcang-Airport, adjacent to the Gaisano Grand Mall, in Bacolod City.
The 10.4-hectare Bacolod Mixed-Use Development Project is spearheaded by Cebu-based Grand Land Inc. (GLI), and aims “to create a dynamic and sustainable community that blends modern office spaces, residential condominiums, hotel, commercial and retail establishments, and essential public amenities.”
Estimated project cost is P300 million per building or tower.
According to the project description for scoping made public by the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau in Western Visayas Aug. 13, the development will be a hub for business, living, and recreation.
“Key highlight of the project is the integration of linear parks, wide road networks with bicycle lanes, and shared amenities with an existing mall extension, ensuring that the development is not only functional but also highly accessible, sustainable, and community oriented,” the company said.
“Through this initiative, Grand Land Inc. is committed to shaping Bacolod City’s future with a development that meets the needs of its diverse residents and visitors while promoting long-term urban sustainability,” it added.
The EMB has scheduled a public scoping for the proposed project on Aug. 26 at the covered court/barangay hall in Singcang.
The public scoping is an early stage in the environmental impact assessment process where the proponent aims to provide an overview of the proposed project, gather issues and concerns and other relevant information for the scope of work and terms of reference in the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement, the EMB said.
It also called on interested parties, organizations, and agencies to provide inputs during the public scoping and public review periods. | CGC
