The search for the eight-year-old boy, who was reported missing for four days, ended on Saturday after his body was found in a sugarcane field at Sitio Omot in Barangay Santol, Binalbagan.
The body of the minor, who was reported missing on Nov. 19, was already in a state of decomposition.
Initial investigation conducted by the Binalbagan police indicated that there was no injury noticed in the cadaver nor a sign of foul play that led to his death.
The boy’s body was brought to the Binalbagan Infirmary Clinic for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of his death, according to the police.
Meanwhile, a 66-year-old farmer was also found dead in a rice field at Sitio Omas in Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City.
The victim succumbed to two gunshot injuries as reported by his son to the Sipalay City police.
The cause of his death is still being investigated, the police said. | GB
