A minor drowned in Barangay 1 Poblacion, Isabela while a student was found dead in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia in Negros Occidental over the weekend, police reports showed.
On Saturday (Aug. 9), alias “Niko”, 10, went swimming with his two friends at Guintubhan River and was not able to rise to the surface after reaching the deep portion of the river.
Rescue personnel brought his body to the Isabela District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
A 21-year-old Aeronautics student, believed to have figured in a motorcycle accident, was found dead at Hacienda Senora in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia on Sunday (Aug. 10).
PCapt. Honey Labaro, Murcia police officer-in-charge, said in a radio interview the victim, a resident of Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, had a drinking spree with his cousin and friends the night before the incident.
He went home driving the motorcycle of his cousin, but about 5 a.m. on Sunday, he was found dead with multiple injuries.
A motorcycle was found several meters away from his body. | GB
