Property giant Megaworld has committed to help the Bacolod City government in boosting its tourism, and in promoting its festivals.

“In the coming years, there will be a lot of tourism facilities at The Upper East because we really envision this township, not just to be a central business district but a tourist destination for Bacolod,” Harold Geronimo, first vice president and head of PR & Media Affairs at Megaworld Corporation, said during a tour Oct. 3 of One Manhattan at One Regis, the third residential condominium inside the 34-hectare premier master-planned community in the highly-urbanized city.

The 14-storey landmark development is Bacolod’s first smart home condo development, with a total of 260 residential units, and parking in two levels.

One Manhattan boasts of a modern architectural design and a curated mix of lifestyle amenities, many of which are being offered for the first time in the city, like a private dining room with outdoor lounges.

“Our vision is always aligned with tourism, that’s really the goal of Megaworld,” Geronimo said, adding that One Manhattan is designed to set new standards for condominium living in Bacolod.

It combines stylish living spaces, world-class facilities, and a strategic location within Bacolod’s premier master-planned community.

The condo features a residential lobby with reception and lounge, retail spaces on the ground level, two passenger elevators and one service elevator, a 24/7 security with CCTV monitoring, centralized mall room and drivers’ lounge, and fully addressable fire detection and alarm systems.

One Manhattan residents can look forward to varied amenities, like adult and kiddie pools, outdoor jacuzzi, pool deck; outdoor play areas, reading nooks, and seating lounges; wall climbing area and putting green; gym with mini ovel track, dance/yoga studio; function room with spillover area; a game room; and roof deck bar and lounge areas with panoramic views.

“Soon, there will be lots of leisure, recreational, and sports facilities that we will be putting up at The Upper East because there is a high demand for all of these” in Bacolod, Geronimo added.

He also thanked Mayor Greg Gasataya for allowing Megaworld to be part of the Bacolod Tourism Council as a private sector representative. “We’re committed to really hep the Bacolod government by suggesting, recommending, and even coming up with tourism programs here at The Upper East.”

He said that Megaworld wants to actively participate in every festival of Bacolod, noting that The Upper East has one of the biggest avenues in the city. “We want to promote the festivals by offering our roads to be venues.”

At the ongoing MassKara Festival celebration, The Upper East is the venue of the MassKaraNamit Food Fair that starts from 4:30 p.m. until midnight, until Oct. 19.

It remains as the staging area for the electric MassKara and float parade on Oct. 17, and, for the first time, will be the venue for a repeat performance of the MassKara street dance winners, Geronimo said. | CGC
