Team SaGa led by Talisay City mayoralty candidate Samuel Siote and his runningmate for vice mayor, Councilor Angel Gabriel “Gab” Villacin, is composed of members of the Liberal Party (LP) and the ruling Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).

Before unveiling their line-up today, Sept. 27, Siote, the city’s former vice mayor, reelectionist councilors Remus Gulmatico and Stephen Siote, and councilor aspirants Jenry Clavecillas and Gelo Lacson signed their certificates of acceptance and nomination to run under the LP banner.

Villacin and the four other councilor aspirants under Team SAGA took their oath as PFP members last month.

Siote said that their affiliation with various national political parties will have no effect on Team SaGa.

The Siote-Villacin tandem will challenge the team of lawyer Rowena Lopez Lizares, wife of incumbent Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares, and Vice Mayor Nicolai Jalandoni, who are slated to make a formal announcement on their candidacies in the coming days.

Siote said that the Team SaGa will support the congressional bid of Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez as they have witnessed his effective governance and good performance as a neophyte mayor.

However, they have yet to decide whom to support in the Negros Occidental gubernatorial race.

Other Team SaGa councilor aspirants include lawyer Bimbo Lavides, Zenia Astorga, Renil Garcia, Ging Mahandog Lawis, Emil Lopez Lizares, and Jaime Mariquit. | GB
