Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the blessing and inauguration of the market stall project at the Fish Wharf in Barangay 2 Poblacion, Hinigaran recently.
Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo, 5th District Board Member-elect Hadji Trojillo, Councilor Edmund Arceo, Barangay 2 captain Prudencio Villarias Jr., and DILG officer Jennifer Acosta also attended the activity June 5.
The market stall is part of the provincial government’s barangay development initiatives, with counterpart support from the local government of Hinigaran.

It aims to support the local economy by providing income opportunities for the fishing community, the Capitol said in a press release June 9.
The project also aims to promote sustainable livelihoods, foster community engagement, and provide more convenient access to fresh seafood products.
Lacson said the provincial government remains committed to assisting Hinigaran in realizing its development projects for the good of the town and its residents.
Residents and the fisherfolk thanked Lacson and the officials for bringing the project to fruition, and recognizing its long-term benefits to their community. ||
