The second encounter between former senator Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Leni Robredo, this time in the May 2022 presidential race, is something to watch out for, former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela said.

Marcos and Robredo first battled it out in the vice presidential race in 2016.

Coscolluela said the “drama” of the administration candidates has not ended yet since there are still unanswered questions, like the disqualification case of Marcos, and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go running for president without a vice president.

Coscolluela said that legislators should pay attention to electoral reforms since the law on substitution has been abused by some candidates.

The election laws should be changed back to the original guidelines that substitution can only be made because of the health issue or death of a candidate, he added.

Coscolluela, lead convenor of the Negros for Leni movement, said they want to present a clean governance record while the other camp, he claimed, has questions on credibility. —  MML
