A 38-year-old resident of Cauayan, Negros Occidental was shot dead by one of the three unidentified men who entered his home Monday night.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim, whose identity is being withheld by the police, was shot several times inside his residence in Sitio Patol, Barangay Caliling.
The victim died on the spot as the assailants fled.
In Himamaylan City, a 40-year-old construction worker was injured after he was stabbed by his drinking buddy at Sitio Tanate in Barangay Aguisan on Monday.
The victim, who suffered injury in his neck, is being treated at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.
The suspect, a resident of Sitio Casipongan, Barangay Carabalan, fled. | GB
