The body of an unidentified male with bullet wounds was discovered along the national highway in Sitio Tanate, Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Aug. 8.
A passing motorist spotted the victim lying on the ground at around 1:30 p.m., prompting a 911 call that dispatched duty investigators to the scene.
Responding officers found the victim, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, with gunshot wounds to the left side of his head and left chest. The body bore a “PAULO” tattoo on the left side of the neck.
Two fired 9mm cartridges were found at the scene alongside a Smith & Wesson .38 special caliber revolver loaded with five live cartridges, and a Honda Click motorcycle.
The victim was rushed by the Himamaylan City Rescue Unit to the Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
The Himamaylan Component City Police Station is conducting follow-up operations to identify the deceased, and track down the shooter. | TMD
