EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon laughed off allegation Feb. 14 that he almost figured in a near fistfight with Abang Lingkod partylist solon Stephen Paduano over the position as campaign manager of Bacolod mayoral aspirant Alfredo “Albee” Benitez.

Malacon dismissed the allegation as a “big joke”, adding that it will never happen.

He stressed that Paduano is his congressman, is a fellow Saraviahanon, and a relative, whom he also described as an “elder brother”.

The mayor, who is running unopposed in the May 9 elections, clarified that he did not replace Paduano as the campaign manager of Benitez, adding that he is not a resident of Bacolod City.

Benitez also strongly denied the allegation.

“It never happened and very unlikely to happen,” he added. — GB
