Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Negros Island, Bohol, and Siquijor in the next two to three hours, the Rainfall Advisory No. 5, issued past 1 p.m. today, of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration showed.
It added that the Low Pressure Area near Eastern Samar may likely develop into a tropical depression, to be called “Tonyo”, in the next 36 hours.
Flooding including flashfloods, rain-induced landslides, and sediment-laden streamflows may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards, the PAGASA said.
Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea.
