Local candidates launch campaign

Local candidates in Bacolod City launched their respective campaigns for the May 9 elections by holding caravans with mascots and dancing on the streets with their supporters, today, March 25.

Independent candidate for councilor, Ricardo “Cano” Tan, owner of the Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City, held a caravan with his supporters, with the mascots of the resort as added attractions.

Tan also danced with his supporters outside the North Public Cemetery in Bacolod, while going around the area to shake hands with the people.

For the Grupo Progreso of Mayor Evelio Leonardia, the group attended a 2 p.m. mass at the Sacred Heart Shrine, followed by a motorcade around the city.

Grupo Progreso will hold a grand rally Saturday at the Bacolod Public Plaza.

The Asenso Team of mayoral candidate Alfredo “Albee” Benitez will also have their grand rally Saturday afternoon at the Paglaum Sports Complex, with celebrities and singers expected to entertain the crowd./MML
