Landers Superstore, the fastest-growing membership shopping store in the country, is expanding its reach in the Visayas region with a new store inside Megaworld’s The Upper East township in Bacolod City.

Targeted to open by March 2023, the Bacolod branch is the first Landers Superstore in Western Visayas, and the fourth Landers store under Megaworld, after the one in Alabang West, Landers Arcovia City and in Uptown Bonifacio.

The store will occupy a 25,000-square meter, or 2.5-hectare property, along Upper East Avenue, just across the two latest residential condominium developments – the Two Regis and Herald Parksuites – and the upcoming BPO office towers.

Landers Superstore will open inside the sprawling Megaworld’s The Upper East township in Bacolod City in March 2023, and will feature unique design and sustainability elements.

This premier membership shopping store will feature unique design and sustainability elements, and will be directly connected to the west wing of the soon-to-rise three-level Upper East Mall via a 30-meter long bridgeway, which will come equipped with a walkalator to allow greater mobility for customers, even with their grocery carts in tow.

It will also feature its own gas station, where members can enjoy exclusive discounts on fuel products. The Landers Upper East will also have its expansive parking area, which will be designed to accommodate more than 300 vehicles at a time.

The facility will be integrated into an area of the township where centuries-old trees are preserved, and permeable paver blocks will be used for the ground surface of the parking area for better rainwater retention.

The store will also have a host of sustainable features, including high bay LED lighting fixtures and energy efficient air-conditioning units, and will be equipped with backup emergency power, as well as a rainwater collector system that will allow the collection and harvesting of water for later use.

“We are very happy and excited to host another Landers in our township. This time, inside The Upper East township in Bacolod, which is envisioned to be Bacolod’s newest central business district,” Graham Coates, first vice president and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls said in a press release Sept. 13. “This will be one of our anchor commercial establishments that will be directly connected to our iconic Upper East Mall.”

“Our strategic partnership with Landers has gone a long way. They are an important component of our rising modern townships,” Coates said.

The Upper East’s prime location will draw in thousands of people to live, work, and play in its affluent spaces. Landers looks forward to settling in the heart of this exciting community and catering to the diverse needs of its future populace, the press release said.

“Landers is thrilled to call Bacolod as its second home in Visayas. Bacolod stood out among other cities in the region for its tremendous economic growth over the years and its solid reputation as one of the most business-friendly cities in the country,” it added.

The retail chain also noted an increasing demand for premium goods and experiences from the city’s growing population, ensuring a steady market for its core business.

Aside from bringing in huge investments, Landers will also provide valuable employment to the local workforce, as it expects to generate about 500 jobs, from construction phase to its full launch.

Landers has also been contributing to Bacolod’s development and growth even before it launched its store expansion, through its partnership with the Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation.

They spearheaded numerous outreach activities in Bacolod and the rest of Western Visayas under the Mingo Meals Nutritional Support Program. For the past three years, Landers donated P485,384 worth of Mingo meals that fed 62,916 children from underserved areas in the province.

Through these efforts, Landers proves that it is not only a one-stop shop for premium local and international products, but also one of the leading developers of dynamic communities in the country.

“Landers assures the people of Bacolod that this new store will definitely be worth the wait. Residents and visitors will have more reasons to smile because they can finally enjoy a full range of topnotch products, great deals, and exclusive perks closer to home,” Landers stressed in a statement. ||
