Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia are set to have a virtual meeting Jan. 28 to discuss the possible synchronized travel policies between the province and the highly-urbanized city.
Lacson said they will reply first to the letter of Leonardia before the meeting Friday so that the mayor will have an idea of the actions taken by the province in the continuous fight against the coronavirus disease 2019.
Lacson said there was a suggestion that mayors of Negros Occidental should also be included in the meeting.
He said that even before the letter of Leonardia dated Jan. 22, the Provincial Incident Management Team and a group of doctors already recommended continuing the requirement of a negative RT-PCR result for inbound passengers from areas under Alert Level 3, or higher.
Lacson went back to work Jan. 25 after he developed flu-like symptoms last week and eventually tested positive for COVID-19 Jan. 22.
He is on a work from home arrangement, and may undergo another swab test before he reports back to Capitol in Bacolod City Jan 31. |MML
