The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) conferred the Gawad Parangal Award to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson during its fifth founding anniversary held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Monday, Dec. 4.
The Gawad Parangal Award aims to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of those who have made a positive impact on the society and worked in the convergence of the efforts to attain the goals in ending the local armed conflict, according to NTF-ELCAC.

As the governor, Lacson chairs the Provincial TF-ELCAC in Negros Occidental, and also chairs the Regional Peace and Order Council of Western Visayas (Region 6).
Other awardees from Western Visayas were Juan Jovian Ingeniero, regional director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and chairperson of the RTF-6 ELCAC Technical Working Group, and Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales, who chairs the Legal Cooperation Cluster. | GB
