Building on its achievements in 2025, the Negros Occidental provincial government is moving decisively forward with concrete and transformative plans for 2026, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said during the first flag ceremony of the year on Monday, Jan. 5.
Lacson said the six-newly constructed abattoirs in Hinobaan, Cauayan, Binalbagan, Murcia, Toboso and San Carlos City, which are expected to strengthen the province’s meat capacity and ensure food safety and quality, will be operationalized within the first quarter of the year.
“We can assure the public of very clean pork and meat products that come out from the abattoirs,” the governor said.
Lacson also announced the putting up of Emergency 911 command posts and logistic hubs in each of the six districts of Negros Occidental to ensure well-coordinated responses during emergencies and calamities.
Regional offices of Negros Island Region will be housed the Cyber Centre and Paglaum Sports Complex grandstand in Bacolod City, which are expected to significantly strengthen regional coordination and improve the delivery of government services to Negrenses, he added.
“These initiatives reflect our firm commitment to sustain progress, improve public services, and ensure that development remains inclusive and responsive to the needs of our people,” Lacson said. | GB
