Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson on Wednesday (March 6) assured PCol. Rainerio De Chavez, officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), that he will not interfere in the police operations.
“But we are here to support them,” Lacson said.
De Chavez, who was previously assigned at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Directorate for Intelligence, earlier said that he will do his best to match, if not exceed, the performance of his predecessors.
Lacson said he has told the new NOCPPO chief to go out and visit all the local government units in Negros Occidental.
“I think he should familiarize himself with Negros Occidental,” the governor said.
Lacson added that the PNP has its own marching orders for De Chavez, which is to combat criminality and illegal drugs and to keep peace and order. | GB
