A 51-year-old man died after a fire hit his house at Hacienda Navidad in Barangay Caduha-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday (June 17).
The victim, who worked as a laborer, was trapped inside his bedroom, according to police report.
Citing the initial the investigation of Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), the Cadiz City police said the fire started in the kitchen.
Prior to the incident, the victim and his companion had a drinking session in Victorias City.
Damage was estimated at P10,000.
The victim died of suffocation, secondary to smoke inhalation, the BFP report said.
The cause of the fire is still being established. | GB
