Korean officials, performers to visit Neg. Occ.

Professor Junghwan Kim, president of the Korea-Philippines Festivals Cultural Exchange Association, with his wife, Park Sang, will lead the delegation of performers and officials of the tourism and culture foundation, for a visit and a series of performances in Negros Occidental this month.

The delegation is composed of Lola Chang and Carlo J of the Korea Flamenco Association, traditional Korean dance performer Jung Ji-ye and husband Kim Gil Hwan, calligrapher Park Soyoon, and Lee Byong-wook, president of the Haenam City Tourism and Culture Foundation.

On Sept. 8, they will perform at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and will meet with the school administrators and performing arts directors of the Kinaadman Center for Culture and the Arts.

The group will also attend on Sept. 9 the commemoration of the end of the second World War and liberation of Negros, dubbed as “Victory Day”, at the Provincial Capitol Park, and will perform at the Visayan Maritime Academy and at the West Visayas State University Himamaylan City campus.

On Sept. 10, they will witness the Minuluan Festival street and arena dance of Talisay City.

The delegation from South Korea will spend their third night at the newly-reopened Quiet Place in Brgy. Tabunan, Bago City.

They are also scheduled to visit the Christmas Village of Bamboo Tonogbanua and the campus of La Consolacion College on Sept. 11, prior to their departure. ||
