Kapatiran grantees get cash aid from NegOcc

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the ceremonial distribution of educational assistance to Kapatiran next of kin grantees, at P5,000 each, at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City Nov. 21.

Thirty grantees out of 200 received their educational assistance from the governor, who said that he is very happy that the Kapatiran chose the pathway towards peace and unity.

Lacson thanked the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, the Philippine Army, and the Philippine National Police for implementing programs on peace and order.

He stressed that his administration will continue to support the programs to promote peace and security.

Lacson said in a Capitol press release that he hopes that the scholars “will advance to be confident individuals, responsible citizens, and effective contributors to our community, our society and our nation.”

Present during the distribution program were director Christina Loren Umali of OPAPRU-RCCO, BGen Orlando Edralin – commander of the 302nd Infantry Brigade, Col. Ferdinand Buscato – chief of the AFP Peace Process and Development, Col. Leo Pamittan – director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Lt. Col. Arnel Caloagan – commander of the 79th Infantry Battalion, Veronica Tabara – co-chair of the Joint Enforcement and Monitoring Committee, committee member Milo Ibrado Jr., and Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division head Karen Dinsay, among others. ||
