Five unidentified armed men shot dead the husband of a barangay kagawad in Sitio Banquerohan, Brgy. Salamanca, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
Initial police investigations showed that the victim, identified by the police as Allan Macasling Sr., 55, was working on his fishpond when the unidentified suspects, armed with high-powered firearms, forced him to go home with them.
According to police reports, the victim was handcuffed by the suspects and was shot in front of his family members.
Macasling succumbed to a head injury, according to P/Maj. Jun Ray Batadlan, Toboso police chief.
Before leaving the crime scene, the armed men reportedly fired their guns.
Soldiers of the 79th Infantry Battalion and troopers of the 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company are now tracking down the suspects, in coordination with the Toboso Police Station. | GB
