A female Indian national and four others were injured in a shooting incident at Barangay Bagtic, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 8.
The alleged gunman, who is also an Indian national, managed to escape after firing at the victim along the Hacienda Buyong-Buyong road.
Initial police investigation showed the 42-year-old woman was on a motorcycle driven by her 45-year-old companion, when she was shot by the motorcycle-riding gunman trailing them.
Police identified the suspect as the victim’s brother-in-law.
The victim, who was hit in the abdomen, fell from the motorcycle along with the driver, who was injured by the impact of the fall.
Despite her injuries, the woman managed to seek help and was able to board a passing multi-cab vehicle.
The gunman also fired at the vehicle, hitting the three others passengers in the process.
All the four victims are now in stable condition after they were treated at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City. | GB
