
About 1,230 persons with disability in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, received their last quarter allowance from the city government yesterday, Dec. 8.
Dionela Madrona, head of the Talisay City Social Services Development Office, said the City allotted about P1 million a year as allowance for PWDs, who each received P450 every quarter.
Madrona added that last week, they also released a similar quarterly allowance to 8,607 registered senior citizens of the city.
This is aside from the P3,000 received by 1,323 senior citizens who qualified under the social pension of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The amount given to social pensioners came from the national government through the DSWD Regional Office.
The CSSDO of Talisay completed the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) grant last week to 18,328 beneficiaries. The last group that received P6,000 in assistance totaled 1,733.
The more than 115,000 beneficiaries received the assistance during the first tranche of SAP distribution in May. – ML
