A Negrense graduate of West Visayas State University (WVSU) in La Paz, Iloilo City, topped the 2021 Physician Licensure Examination, as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission Sept. 24.
Maria Inez Sellado Benedicto got a rating of 87.83 percent.
Benedicto is also a product of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, and landed in seventh place in the September 2015 Medical Technology Licensure examination, the iFM Bacolod 943 reported.
She is the daughter of Richard and Maria Sol Benedicto of La Carlota City in Negros Occidental.
She is a consistent honor student and graduated magna cum laude in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 2014.
Benedicto shared the top spot in the Physician Licensure Examination with Jude Philip Pozon of Cebu Institute of Medicine.
The PRC said 1,084 out of 1,546 examinees passed the licensure examination, complete and finals with prelims, given by the Board of Medicine in Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Zamboanga early this month.||
