The Himamaylan City government boosted the delivery of medical services to residents with the arrival of two new patient transport vehicles (PTVs) this month.
One PTV, worth P5 million, was acquired under the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund.
“This is part of the city government’s DRRM plan to augment our services and strengthen preparation in times of emergencies,” Mayor Raymund Tongson said.
Himamaylan was also among the 51 local government units in Western Visayas that received the PTVs under the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP) of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led in the turnover of PTVs to beneficiary local governments, including 19 from Negros Occidental, in a ceremony in Passi City, Iloilo Sept. 19.
“Himamaylan City is grateful to the PCSO and President Bongbong Marcos for this new vehicle. It will definitely aid more Himamaylanon patients,” Tongson, who was at the ceremonial turnover, said in a press release Sept. 25.
“With these new PTVs, our response operations have become more efficient and effective,” he added. ||
