The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has disarmed its personnel, who was caught in a footage showing her off her gun at a restaurant bar in Bacolod City.

Intelligence officer Janna Marie Navales is now on leave, but she had not been suspended.

“She was already disarmed, pending investigation of the incident,” NBI Bacolod chief Renoir Baldovino said on Monday.

Baldovino said that the NBI-Western Visayas regional office, will submit its investigation report to the national office, where it will be looked into by the Internal Affairs Division.

Navales and her friends had a drinking spree on Nov. 24 that lasted until after midnight of the following day.

After her group left, Navales returned and called the attention of the staff as she insisted that she left a jacket at the table they occupied.

However, the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage showed that Navales left the restobar carrying her jacket and cellphone.

The CCTV camera also captured Navales holding a firearm behind her, although she did not point it at the complainants.

“We are ready to implement whatever will be the decision,” he said.

Baldovino had advised Navales to apologize to the owner and the employee of the restobar she had confronted. | GB
