Grand fireworks display ushers in Year 2025 in Dumaguete

Crowds of families, friends, tourists, and expats of various nationalities flocked to Pantawan People’s Park in Dumaguete City for picnics and the best spots to watch the grand fireworks display to welcome the new year.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo led the New Year’s countdown as colorful fireworks lit up the sky and the 2025 signage got illuminated at the stroke of midnight to the cheers and joy of the assembled throng.

The enthusiastic revelers took turns taking their photos or selfies before the 2025 signage with their families and friends, including foreign tourists.

Remollo shared his optimism and profound prayers that with unity of enlightened purpose, all of the projects and initiatives designed to make Dumaguete an even better and prosperous place for its people will be realized, the city said.

Aside from Remollo and first lady, Cristine, local officials and guests who attended the countdown included Councilor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, City Administrator Lilani Ramon, Atty. Dio Remollo, city tourism officer-in-charge Katherine Therese Aguilar, city engineer Loyd Tenaja, and CEED head Engr. Leticia Duran, among others. ||
