Fugitive beaten, shot in Kabankalan

          A fugitive, who ranked top 7 in the wanted list of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, was shot and injured, after he tried to escape from his abductors yesterday at Sitio Amian in Brgy. Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

          The victim was identified by the police as Jimmy Fermo, a 37 year old laborer and resident of the place.

          Initial police investigations show that  Fermo was sleeping at the house of his friend, Florentino Pelacio, when four unidentified armed men barged into the house, handcuffed and blindfolded him, before beating him.

          Fermo was also shot several times, while trying to escape, police investigations further showed.

          He also dragged to waiting multi cab vehicle, where he was later left behind at a diversion road in Brgy. Talubangi, Kabankalan City.

          Fermo, who suffered two gunshot wounds, is now being treated of his injuries at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, where the police also served the arrest warrant for murder, which was issued against him by Judge Rodney Zamora Magbanua.

          The victim was also denied bail by Judge Magbanua. |GB
