In a statement, PNP chief Rommel Francisco Marbil urged Ibay and Guzman to remain steadfast in their sworn duty to act fairly and uphold their dignity as law enforcers.

Marbil earlier said the reshuffle is necessary to “preposition” officials fit for their next assignments.

Other key PRO-NIR regional staff officials named earlier were PCol. Dennis Esguerra as OIC Deputy Regional Director for Administration; PCol. Gilbert Gorero, OIC Chief of Regional Staff; and PCol. Ronaldo Palomo, OIC of Regional Operations Management Division.

Upon the activation of PRO-NIR on March 27, PBrig. Gen Jack Wanky was named as OIC concurrent with his duty as police regional director of Western Visayas.

The PRO-NIR will have a temporary headquarters at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.

The PRO-NIR is composed of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, Siquijor Police Provincial Office, and Bacolod City Police Office. | GB
