The San Carlos City government inspected on Wednesday five food establishments on their compliance with health and safety to check the spread of the coronavirus disease.

The inspection was conducted by the office with the law enforcement team and police officers.

The inspection team, led by the City Tourism Office and law enforcers

Jennifer Saballa, tourism operations officer, said they conduct daily monitoring of the establishments to ensure that violations do not recur and that minimum health standards are being observed.

The health standards include the putting up of thermal scanner, foot bath and hand sanitizers at the entrance and social distancing customers.

The tourism officer, at the same time, reiterated the directive of Dr. Wilmer Yap, city councilor and commander of the Emergency Operations Center, for food establishment operators to sanitize the tables and chairs after every customer use to avoid contamination from possible droplets.

Also checked are the proper use of face mask and shield among food servers and counter attendants when taking orders, availability of QR code for VAMOS app and the operational capacity of each food establishment.

Saballa said citation tickets will be issued to first-time violators while the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will call the attention of recurring violators that might direct closure of business.

The team is also set to inspect food establishments that operate at night. – NWI
