Floods wash away heavy equipment in Moises Padilla

Floods triggered by heavy rains on Sunday (Oct. 25) washed away the only primer mover owned by the local government of Moises Padilla.

The heavy equipment was parked by the riverbank near the Livestock Auction Market at Baragay 1, Poblacion and was found the following day downstream.

The floods also prompted the local government to evacuate 46 families of Barangay 1 to the town’s auditorium.

The evacuation and relief operations were led by Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo, along with Councilor Vincent Bryan Garcia, Barangay Captain Bernard Garcia, and personnel from the Disaster Response Office, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The Mayor’s Office said the families, with about 150 members returned to their homes on Tuesday morning. NAB
