It was a display of local culture, creativity and ingenuity when the enhanced festival costumes of Negros Occidental towns and cities were showcased by the Lin-ay sang Negros candidates.
The parade of festival costumes was held at the Event Center of SM City on Saturday afternoon, March 22.
Twenty-seven candidates walked from the second level down the spiral staircase to the Event Center before parading their stylized attire depicting the local festival of their respective towns and cities.
Two awards will be presented during the Lin-ay sang Negros pageant night on March 28 (Friday). These are Best in Festival Costume and Best Festival Costume Design.

The festival costume competition will be judged based on the candidates’ carriage, poise and grace, appropriateness of attire and style, sense of attractiveness, beauty and charm as well as the candidate’s display of confidence, personality and stage presence.
The design competition is based on adherence to the concept of the festival represented, creativity and craftsmanship, appropriateness of attire and overall appeal.

Kyla Rose Romarate of Victorias City, who eventually clinched the Lin-ay sang Negros title, won the Best in Festival Costume for the city category last year while Marie Louise Adolacion of La Castellana took the town category prize.
